Part Time; Partial Year Career Starting Salary Range: $60,000-$74,000/annually for 12 months with a two-month unpaid summer furlough annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary proportionate to time worked.

Involves providing a variety of IT services. Assignments may include database administration, application programming, IT project management, systems administration, systems and process analysis, security, solution development and maintenance, business technical support or a combination of these and / or other IT functions.
Provides discipline-specific IT services to Arts Division departments in support of instruction and research. Tasks include providing direct support for complex digital imaging and electronic art, and may include support for animation and/or games. Additional tasks include managing IT aspects of complex instructional spaces including equipment, software, maintenance, security and servers; conducting workshops; maintaining documentation and websites; and managing one or more technical budgets.
The Arts Division encompasses all UCSC arts programs, including Art, Digital Arts and New Media (DANM), Film and Digital Media (FDM), Games and Playable Media (AGPM), History of Art and Visual Culture, Music and Theater Arts. Pertinent to this position, the division offers long-established programs in photography, printmaking and electronic art (in the Art Dept), and digital arts/new media (DANM), as well as recent and rapidly growing programs in Games and Playable Media (AGPM) and animation (Art, FDM).

Expert knowledge of the equipment, applications and materials used in the creation and output of digital image projects, including color management equipment and software.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and concepts of art production and distribution.
Extensive and detailed familiarity with the Macintosh operating system and server OS, including in a lab setting.
Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
