The College of Fine Arts seeks a Piano Technician. This position is responsible for managing the inventory of approximately 170 pianos and other keyboard instruments in the School of Music, and overseeing the tuning, rebuilding, voicing, regulating, general maintenance, and emergency repairs of these instruments. This position also hires, trains, and supervises a staff of piano technicians; oversees the piano shop and manages its budget; and provides recommendations for short-term and long-term strategies for replacing an aging fleet of pianos. This position reports to the Director of Production and Performance
Required/Preferred Qualifications: Strong communication skills and supervisory experience required. Candidate must be a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) in the Piano Technicians Guild. Expertise in the tuning, rebuilding, voicing, regulating, and general maintenance of Steinway, Baldwin, and Yamaha pianos required. Basic harpsichord tuning and repair skills, including restringing and plectra replacement, preferred.
Work Experience: At least 5 years of related experience.
