Tarleton State University, a member of the Texas A&M System, invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the area of Music Business/Music Industry. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate courses in music technology, sound recording, live sound production, music business topics, and will oversee the music business internship placements and the recording studio. The candidate will also possess experience with current software and equipment associated with music business and music technology fields. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to engage in curriculum development, provide support for program growth, advise students and maintain an active and successful recruitment and retention program. This faculty member will maintain an appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active career in research and publication. The appointment carries a full-time, nine-month contract to commence at the beginning of the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

60% Teaching: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline; Develop a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes; Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning.
30% Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity: Demonstrate a record of ongoing research, scholarship or creative activity appropriate to your academic discipline.
10% Service: Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry. Facilitating counseling and degree planning for undergraduate and graduate students work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation. Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Music Business/Music Industry or related field (ABD status may be considered as long as all degree requirements have been successfully completed by time of appointment.)
Preferred Education and Experience:
Preference given to candidates with teaching experience or industry experience.
