Jemicy School, which educates talented and bright college-bound students (grades 1-12) with dyslexia or other related language-based learning differences, is seeking an enthusiastic, full-time music educator to teach lower and middle the school music comprehension and voice for the 2019-2020 school year. In addition to the daily music/voice curriculum, this individual will serve as the musical director for the lower and the middle school productions performed during the school year, a responsibility that includes rehearsals and accompaniment during the performances.
The ideal candidate will be highly creative, knowledgeable, passionate about music, and possess the ability to deliver developmentally appropriate lessons using multisensory instructional techniques that support a broad range of student learning styles. Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with music in an instructional environment to develop students’ technical understanding, appreciation, and performance of music are required, as are strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to developing successful learners and future productive citizens. A sincere interest in participating in community activities, and the ability and willingness to coach an athletic team and/or club, are expected.
