Gannon University’s College of Humanities, Education, & Social Sciences invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate Education Programs for the School of Education to begin August 2019. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of: On-line Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Program; PA Certification Programs for PreK-12 Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Superintendent; Academic Partnerships with school districts and educational institutions; the On-line Elective Act 48 Program; and School Embedded Act 45 Program. Release time of 12 credits annually and a summer stipend are provided. The successful candidate will be proficient in teaching, curriculum development, and advising graduate students and will prepare motivated students intellectually, professionally and personally.
Requirements include an earned doctorate in Education, certification or certification-eligible as a principal and/or superintendent in the State of Pennsylvania, and experience with online teaching. Experience with higher education teaching and administration, PreK-12 administrative experience, and understanding of state education department regulations preferred. Qualified candidates are expected to have a scholarly background in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship and meeting the University’s requirements for Associate Professors. Candidates must support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
