We seek an energetic, multi-talented applicant whose appointment will be part-time in the Department of Music (Lecturer) teaching Concert Band MUS 165 beginning Winter 2020. The successful candidate must have the skills to conduct Concert Band, offer imaginative programming, create new arrangements and be proficient on at least one band instrument. They should also be familiar with classic works from the extensive band and wind ensemble repertoire, transcriptions of symphonic pieces, and the finest new works for band and wind ensemble.
The candidate will be eligible for reappointment to Spring 2020 dependent on need, funding, and performance.

Starting Date: Winter Quarter instruction begins January 6, 2020 and ends March 13, 2020. Spring Quarter instruction begins March 30, 2020 and ends June 5, 2020.
Salary: $6,264.56 per course per quarter (pending final budget approval). Duties: Teach one undergraduate course in Concert Band MUS 165 - Study and performance of literature for the concert band. The course is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:20 p.m. This course has a maximum enrollment of 90 students. Qualifications: MA or MFA degree in Music. Two years of experience teaching at the college level is required with three years preferred.
