Gannon University’s Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences seeks a full-time, 9-month teaching track faculty member for the Sport & Exercise Science Department located at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus to begin January 2020. Rank will be determined according to University standards at the time of employment. The ideal candidate will instruct courses such as: Foundations of Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning, Group Exercise Instruction, Exercise Physiology Labs, Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription Labs. The candidate may manage practicum experiences and community outreach in the greater Erie area, and will participate in course development, advise students, develop and maintain scholarly activities, and participate in service activities to support the University, community, and profession.
Qualified candidates will possess a terminal degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field or a Master’s degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field with at least five years of current, relevant clinical experience. Candidates must also have a demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at the university or college level, certification from an exercise science-related professional organization (i.e., ACSM-CEP and/or NSCA), and three (3) years or more of professional/clinical experience in exercise science with specific preference given to cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation experience. Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship as is appropriate to their rank and application for tenure and/or promotion.
