The Department of Theatre & Dance in the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Dance. The Dance Program is seeking a candidate with a strong background in dance performance, choreography, and instruction to join the faculty.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach multiple levels of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and additional courses that may include Composition, Pedagogy, and History of Dance. The candidate will be expected to serve as producer for dance productions, choreograph theatre musicals, participate in departmental/campus service activities, and engage in scholarship/creative activity as defined by the Dance Program.
The Department of Theatre & Dance at TAMU-CC is a 12-member faculty, 150+ major program offering a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentrations in Acting/Directing, Design/Tech, Teacher Certification, a Minor in Theatre, and a Minor in Dance.
A Terminal Degree in Dance; degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
Professional dance and/or choreographic experience.
Experience producing dance concerts.
Experience teaching dance courses at the collegiate level.
Experience teaching other styles of dance, including hip hop, ethnic forms, and social dance.
