Niagara County Community College is seeking a full time Technical Assistant to work in our Dolce Valvo Art Gallery witin the Division of Business, Technology and the Arts at the college. This position will serve as the coordinator of the Dolce Valvo Art Gallery whose responsibilities encompass scheduling of events and programming within the gallery, all gallery correspondence, coordination of gallery student workforce, and gallery budget. In addition, the position is expected to serve as a facilitator for other BTA events such as Dance productions, Film festivals, Music productions, Tech Wars, Theatre productions and other events as needed.
Typical Work Activities:
1.Develop and schedule gallery programming in collaboration with the Fine Arts faculty and NCCC community for 12 month calendar year 2.Select, curate, and install exhibitions 3.Program special events, gallery talks, workshops to coordinate with exhibitions 4.Facilitate the needs of other divisional productions and events 5.Facilitate media releases to coordinate with exhibitions and productions 6.Promote gallery space and programming that enhances community involvement and enrichment 7.Point person for website content and social media postings related to the scheduled events of the BTA division. 8.Purchase materials/supplies requested by divisional personnel 9.Prepare and administer budget through appropriate funding sources 10.Pursue grant funding to complement gallery mission 11.Hire and supervise student work force 12.Oversee gallery space set up, maintenance and repairs 13.Ensure all proper documentation is filed according to college policies 14. Other duties as assigned
Ability to relate to a diverse academic community including members of the administration, faculty, staff and student body; must be able to coordinate numerous tasks and projects simultaneously; must be able to prepare and provide presentations to groups; must be able to relate to multiple and diverse populations; must be able to maintain a professional appearance; ability to speak to groups of people; ability to travel locally; ability to operate computers and utilize software.
Bachelor degree. Experience with exhibit installation and curation. Experience with event planning in respect to educational programming.
