Requisition Number: 21A316027 Location: Lawrenceville Position Overview: THE SCHOOL OF FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS (SFPA), a unit of the Westminster College of the Arts of Rider University, announces an opening for a full-time, tenure track appointment in Musical Theatre at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2021. We seek an artist-teacher who will join our Theatre and Dance Department faculty and technical staff as we seek to increase our population of diverse students, our inclusion of underrepresented areas in our performances and curriculum, and the incorporation of inclusive pedagogies in our classrooms. Overview: All Rider University faculty are expected to maintain an appropriate and active scholarly and/or creative agenda and to participate effectively in advising, recruiting, committee work, and other activities that support our teaching and learning community. SFPA is one of four units of the Westminster College of the Arts, comprised additionally of Westminster Choir College, Westminster Conservatory, and Westminster Continuing Education. The College of the Arts values diversity among its faculty and remains committed to building a culturally competent and diverse intellectual and artistic community. SFPA offers undergraduate degrees in arts entertainment and industries management, dance, dance science, game and interactive media design, musical theatre, popular music, and theatre. If offers the M.A. in Arts Management and Executive Leadership and provides content specific coursework for the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Dance/Movement Therapy specialization. The School collaborates with other departments and colleges of Rider University in support of the curriculum, performances, and productions.
