The School of Theatre at UNC Greensboro invites applications from a diverse group of candidates who are experienced and actively engaged in advancing equity and inclusivity in their teaching and professional/creative practice for a tenure-track position in Movement/Acting at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 1, 2021. Review of applications will begin March 31st and continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities include teaching courses in movement dynamics for undergraduate and graduate actors and in other theatre performance areas as qualified, and collaborating as movement coach and/or choreographer on productions in the School of Theatre’s production season as assigned. Duties will also include advising students and assisting in student recruitment.

MFA in Theatre with specialization in physical theatre, movement-based theatre, acting, devising or equivalent professional experience, and university-level teaching experience. Experience or interest in working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing development of diversity competencies such as racial literacy and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Candidates should have special expertise in movement modalities such as but not limited to Lecoq, Suzuki, Martial Arts/Tai Chi, Laban, Alexander, Mask, Mime, Capoeira, devising techniques, Yoga, Noh Theatre, Tap, Jazz dance, Musical Theatre choreography and repertoire, Roth, Viewpoints, Barba and Grotowski, Kuttiyatam/Bharatnatyam dance training, West Java/Balinese dance training, African Dance/Social Dance, BOS Technique, stage combat.
Intimacy Training for theatre or film.
Expertise in movement physiology and injury avoidance.
