CONCORDIACOLLEGE, MOORHEAD, MN invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Voice at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking an exceptional educator-performer. All voices are encouraged to apply, tenor preferred. Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate, ABD acceptable.
The successful applicant will demonstrate effective and creative studio teaching skills in a variety of singing styles including but not limited to classical and Contemporary Commercial Music; will display teaching excellence in the classroom setting and within a liberal arts environment; will be committed to mentoring and advising students with skill and compassion; preferably will possess skills in opera theatre direction and production. Studio lessons will comprise a majority of the teaching but additional teaching responsibilities will be assigned based on the candidate’s expertise, interests, and/or department need.
We are also very interested in hearing from candidates whose unique musical and teaching skills would contribute to the changing landscape of music education. These skills would complement and further advance Concordia’s vision for the 21st-century musician. A willingness to serve in a collegial manner within the department and across the college is expected.

The Music Department at Concordia College is NASM accredited and the largest single department on campus, with 40 faculty and more than 1/4 of the entire student body participating in vocal and instrumental lessons and ensembles. The department maintains an excellent reputation throughout the region, with over 150 students majoring in music (music education, composition, or performance) each year, many of whom pursue careers in music education, while others pursue graduate school and/or careers in performing or creative activity. The post-graduation employment rate for music education majors pursuing jobs in the field is extremely high, and many graduates go on to achieve graduate degrees at leading national institutions.

For over 60 years, Concordia Language Villages, based in the beautiful North Woods of Minnesota, has been boldly and optimistically pursuing a vision of peace and understanding by introducing learners to the languages and cultures of our world.
We are advocates for language learning and we take pride in our role in creating more language advocates. It is through exposure to language and culture that we believe we can best serve our mission: to prepare young people for responsible citizenship in our global community.
With an annual enrollment of approximately 10,000 young people and 1,500 adults, we offer a wide variety of options with sessions varying in length from one weekend to four weeks. All language levels are welcome, from beginning to advanced. Our villagers come from all 50 states and more than 40 countries.
