The Arts Administrative Group supports the Departments of Art & Art History, Cinema & Digital Media, Design, Music and Theatre & Dance. It also provides support to the California Lighting Technology Center and the Performance Studies Graduate Group. All are teaching and research units within the College of Letters & Science. The Arts Administrative Group has personnel in 20 on and off campus buildings with ~60 Senate faculty, 50 lecturers, 60 FTE career and contract staff. There are roughly 1200 undergraduate students in 9 majors and 200 graduate students in 6 programs. The California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) is an organized research group within the Department of Design in the College of Letters and Science, Division of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies. CLTC is a cutting edge research and development center with an instructional program established to stimulate, facilitate, and accelerate the development and application of energy efficient lighting and daylighting technologies.
Job Summary
Under general direction of CAO of the Arts Administrative Group, provide day-to-day oversight of administrative functions for the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) including business and finance; contract and grant proposal submission; and administration and human resources. Responsible for encouraging and participating in training and continuing education for administrative staff; organization and prioritization of administrative tasks; and participating in Arts leadership and CLTC management meetings. Supervise shop technician group in the Arts Group departments and programs. Provide high-level analytical support to CAO in operations of the Arts Administrative Group in areas of teaching, space, and other miscellaneous areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with complex financial planning and budget analysis in the areas of contract and grant administration.
Human resource experience to recruit and resolve problems/conflicts, conduct performance management, and build effective service-oriented, team environment.
Experience recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, supervising , evaluating and providing development opportunities for staff.
Experience performing high-level analytical work, analyzing complex information, performing independent research, presenting complex data in a way that facilitates decision-making and making strategic recommendations.
Business management experience to manage and oversee a complex academic department in the areas of, space and facility requirements, information technology, and teaching/research laboratory needs.
Experience analyzing complex information or problems in an objective manner and derive logical conclusions to provide a basis for establishing priorities, selecting appropriate courses of action for pursuit or recommendations to others, and to resolve conflicts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and skills to implement principles of performance management, multiculturalism and diversity, and coaching to enhance staff contributions to department mission.
Strategic planning, analytical and program evaluation skills to provide recommendations continually examine systems and develop or revise to accommodate change requirements.
