The Theatre Department at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN seeks an Artist-in-Residence for Fall 2023 (August 22-December 14, 2023). The guest artist will direct and choreograph Guys and Dolls, teach “Voice and Movement for Musical Theatre,” and coach audition strategies in individual studio hours leading to an on-campus showcase. The Artist-in-Residence stipend for the semester ranges from $20-$25,000 depending on experience, plus a $5,000 travel and housing allowance.

Direct the musical: including coordinating all elements of production, developing a production concept, casting, holding rehearsals, collaborating with designers, and ensuring production quality—typically 20 hours of rehearsal per week, 10/12 on tech weekend, attendance at performances.
Audition and acting coaching: hold individual sessions (similar to voice lessons) for students interested in developing performance skills. At least one public mock audition showcase (usually held at the end of the semester) for students to demonstrate skills.
Teach one Advanced Acting course (e.g. Musical Theatre, Period Styles) based on interest, background, and department needs.
