As part of a Presidential Hiring Initiative and the forthcoming IUB 2030 Strategic Plan, the Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University invites applications for one tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Imaging Data Analysis with an August 1, 2023 start date. Applicants should have a strong record of research productivity and external funding, and a commitment to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to department service. A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or a closely related field is required.
Created in 2006, IU's Department of Statistics currently offers both graduate and undergraduate degree programs and maintains the Indiana Statistical Consulting Center. Current faculty research interests include statistical learning, computational and spatial statistics, and Bayesian inference, with applications to neuroimaging, microbiome, genetics and phylogenetics, and human rights data. We are co-located with the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering which is expanding its initiatives in Artificial Intelligence.
