Visiting Artist-In-Residence, Department of Theatre
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Theatre is seeking applicants for a temporary Visiting Artist-in-Residence (AIR) to design scenery for a production of Heathers: The Musical. Additional responsibilities will include the delivery of a series of master classes or workshops (one in the fall semester, two in the spring semester) tied to the AIR's area of expertise to departmental students, and supervision of students completing Practicum coursework related to the production. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in preliminary design discussions via Zoom, and be on-campus from October 5-8, 2023 to visit the theatre space and continue design discussions. The goal of the Artist-in-Residence program is to provide opportunity for theatre artists from BIPOC and underrepresented groups to interact with students through involvement on a production team and direct mentoring of students.
