Be yourself and start your career here. Help us build a better Brockport! Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Scene Shop Manager. The person in this role will work with students in both the laboratory classes, independent study and projects regarding all aspects of scenery and properties construction. They will also assist in construction and painting of scenery for the Department's productions following standard theatrical construction methods. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Proficient in CAD drafting programs (AutoCAD or Vector Works).
Experience in stage and scenery construction.
Knowledge of common theatrical hardware and adhesives
Knowledge of standard and safe theatrical rigging practices.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret theatrical drafting for scenic construction.
Ability to access and conform to local, state, and federal building, safety, and fire codes.
Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations necessary for building from schematic drawings (i.e., figuring angles, measuring lengths, calculating square footage).
Ability to maintain a clean work environment and basic knowledge of chemical hygiene practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of sound and sound reinforcement.
Familiarity with scene painting.
Familiarity with stage lighting.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 9:30 pm Salary and Benefits: Minimum Salary is $50,148. May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport.
