General Requirements:
Essential to this position is the ability to work collaboratively as a team member in rehearsals and production; devising new curricula; and mentoring and advising students at the undergraduate level. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from a variety of communities and cultures, and a commitment to encourage and support the wide spectrum of artists that are found in theatre today is essential. Service is an integral aspect of the position, including advisement of theater majors, active recruitment, participation in departmental meetings and activities, and service on committees at the departmental, college and university levels.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Candidate will be expected to teach 9 (nine) credit hours per semester including directing, acting, and other areas such as but not limited to play analysis, producing, stage management, voice & movement, etc. In addition, successful candidates will direct one production for the department per academic year. The successful candidate will participate in academic advising, mentoring of majors, recruitment, committee work and service to university. Continuous external creative/research activities in their field are expected.
