Each summer, accomplished professional performers, revered instructors, and talented young musicians from the classical world gather in the picturesque mountain town of Aspen, Colorado, for a very special combination of education and performance.

Hundreds of students join 120 artist-faculty members and 75 guest artists to present more than 400 events in eight weeks. Students perform, often side by side with professional mentors and their teachers, in multiple orchestras, staged operas, chamber music, recitals, and family events, and have the opportunity to attend or participate in lectures, broadcasts, multimedia events, and galas.

To support these events, the AMFS hires approximately 110 seasonal employees to join its 35 year-round staff members for an intensive summer experience. Seasonal staff work at the highest levels of production and arts administration with some of the top professionals in the field.

2024 FESTIVAL DATES: June 27–August 18.

Contract dates vary by position but range from early June through late August.

Statement on the COVID Vaccination Mandate

As of March 2023, the Aspen Music Festival and School will no longer collect proof of vaccination from its participants. The AMFS community is strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including boosters, before arriving in Aspen. The AMFS continues to closely monitor public health conditions and will always operate following all state and county health orders to safeguard its artists, patrons, artist-faculty, students, staff, and community.
