The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a full-time Instrument Technician/Inventory Manager to maintain and manage the School’s large inventory of wind, brass, string and percussion instruments. Successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership as the school adapts its, and the College Foundation’s, instrument inventory acquisition, upkeep, control and management to changing circumstances and opportunities. Continued professional engagement is expected, especially related to clinics/instructional opportunities for music educators. Ample shop space is dedicated to this position. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or an appropriate technical area, appropriate experience in repair/essential maintenance of a broad range of instruments, and ability to collaborate successfully with professional colleagues. In addition, the person in this position will be expected to possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues. Experience in music education as a teacher and/or in support of college-level music education programs and experience in implementation and management of effective organizational systems are preferred.
